DECA Technology: Strategic Boost to India & Semiconductor Packaging Industry
RRP Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S.-based Deca Technologies to acquire cutting-edge wafer-level packaging technologies. The technology transfer includes M-Series and Adaptive Patterning—both critical for next-generation wafer-level chip-scale fan-out packages.
Deca Technologies, backed by industry leaders Qualcomm, Infineon, and ASE Group, is known for its world-class semiconductor packaging innovations.
Key Advantages of Deca’s Adaptive Patterning: Real-Time Design Optimization: Enables per-device customization during manufacturing—every device on every wafer—unlike traditional mask-based lithography.
Superior Throughput: Eliminates the need for high-precision die attach, resulting in 10x faster performance than conventional methods. Avoids field-by-field reticle placement, improving manufacturing speed by up to 5x.
Strategic Impact: This partnership marks a major step forward for India in the global semiconductor packaging ecosystem, positioning the country as a competitive player in advanced chip manufacturing.
HorngCom Technology Partners with RRP Electronics to Expand Semiconductor OSAT Capabilities in India
HorngCom Technology (a subsidiary of AMB Taiwan) has officially partnered with RRP Electronics following the successful approval of RRP’s Mumbai-based OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility.
As part of the collaboration, a new production line will be established at RRP’s Mahape plant to support increased manufacturing capacity.
RRP Electronics will manage the assembly and testing of key semiconductor components including SIM modules, NAND flash chips, MOSFETs, and other integrated circuits.
The partnership is expected to generate $12 million in revenue for the current fiscal year.
Strategic Significance:
This development represents a significant boost for India’s OSAT ecosystem, strengthening the country’s position in the global semiconductor value chain and reducing dependency on overseas packaging services.
RRP Electronics to Acquire Proven Silicon Wafer Line from PTW, Accelerating India’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Ambitions
RRP Electronics is set to acquire a fully operational silicon wafer production line, originally incorporated in Texas Instruments, from Singapore-based PTW. The acquisition includes complete process technology and operational know-how.
At full capacity, the wafer line has a revenue potential of $1.2 billion with gross margins exceeding 60%.
The facility is dedicated to the fabrication of analog devices, a critical segment in power management, automotive, and industrial applications.
Pilot production is targeted for 2025–26, with full-scale ramp-up expected over the following two years.
PTW is a global leader in refurbished front-end semiconductor equipment, serving over 650 fabrication clients through its 14 international subsidiaries.

This acquisition marks a milestone in establishing India’s first major wafer
fabrication facility, aligning with the government’s “Make in India” vision and pushing the country closer to semiconductor self-reliance.
PTW also plans to sell two additional wafer lines in India, further solidifying its role in the nation’s rapidly expanding semiconductor ecosystem.
